Guidelines and Funding Criteria for Submitting NetScientia Foundation Grant Proposals

Funding Criteria

The Foundation uses the following criteria to evaluate grant requests. Projects should:

  • Have 501(c)(3) or not-for-profit status
  • Involve collaboration with other organizations to achieve and /or obtain maximum results.
  • Concern animal rights and/or conservation
  • Concern families needing funds for travel, accomodations, medical expense regarding terminal illness - especially youngin's
  • Concern planet earth eco-systems awarness, education, preservation, and conservation.

Areas the Foundation Generally Does Not Support

  • Academic related education
  • Annual campaigns/fund-raising
  • Conferences
  • Endowments
  • Foundations
  • Individuals
  • Loans
  • Construction
  • Operational emergency funds
  • Research - academic, scientific and medical
  • Scholarships/tuition

Application Instructions/Outline

To complete a proposal, please supply the information requested below. The Foundation has no deadlines, and will usually accept proposals at any time during the year. The Foundation considers proposals at given intervals as time permits, expect at least 45 days before a decision is rendered.

Please be succinct and provide only pertinent information. Send only one (1) copy of your application. Simply staple or paper clip the document and attachments. The Foundation may request additional information, a meeting or visit. Incomplete applications will be NOT returned.

General Information

On a separate cover page, please include:
  • Official name, address, telephone number and organization director/title of the requesting organization that has 501(c)(3) designation and can administer grant funds.
  • Federal/IRS tax I.D. number for the organization listed above.
  • If different from "a," indicate name, address, telephone number and organization director/title of the requesting organization, department, division, etc., that will operate the project.
  • Name, title, and telephone number of primary contact person and other appropriate contacts(s).
  • If applicable, name of sponsoring organization (sponsor, religious order, affiliate group, etc.)
  • Amount of request.
  • Project name.
  • A statement signed by the Executive Director or Board Chair as follows: "I certify that the information provided on this grant request is complete and accurate, based on current available information. Any misrepresentation(s) may be cause for revoking any grant monies to be, or previously, provided."


  • Describe the mission activities and structure of your organization.

Reason for the Project:

  • Explain the issue/challenge the project addresses.
  • Describe who the issue/challenge impacts, and how the issue/challenge was determined.

Project/Business Plan

  • Describe the project.
  • Note the benefits of the project, and comment specifically on how the project addresses the poor and underserved.

  • Describe how the project will be staffed and managed.
  • If a new project, provide the implementation process and timetable.


  • List quantitative objectives (e.g., number of people served, number of classes).
  • List measurable, outcome-oriented objectives (e.g., change in knowledge, behavior, situations, etc. of those served).


  • Indicate the specific amount requested, and describe how the money will be used.
  • Describe how this project will be supported or become self-sustaining in the future.
  • Present a plan to determine the success of the project. How will you convey the degree to which objectives have been achieved?


  • A detailed project budget.
  • A copy of an IRS tax-exempt letter (including tax I.D. number)/proof of not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status. If Official Directory or other group exemption is used for proof, include a copy of the pertinent page and highlight your organization.

  • A list of other funding sources and current grant proposals, including dollar amounts, submitted for the project.
  • A copy of your organization's audited balance sheet for the last two years.*
  • A copy of your organizaton's audited income statement for the last two years.*
  • A copy of your organization's current year budget.
  • A signed statement of support for the project from your organization's board chair.

    *If audited statements are not available, please indicate and furnish your internal financial reports.
